WRITER FIRST, CONTENT AND COPYWRITER SECOND
I've spent a solid decade as a copywriter spit-shining websites, TV commercials, billboards, brochures, biographies, magazine ads, signs, books, articles, e-zines, blogs, annual reports, radio ads and catalogs. After all this time I'm happy to report that words still matter to business. In fact, they matter more than ever.Words build loyalty! The days of the quick sale are over. You need a voice that intrigues, helps, motivates, amuses or otherwise grabs your target by the lapels and doesn't let go.
Words = authenticity Corporate facades are crumbling and trends are barreling toward bare-bones authenticity, interactivity, and approachability (thanks Facebook!). Customers want clear voices with something real to say. Yay!
Words work harder A good copywriter also has "marketing brain" and can think holistically about ways to make sure you're getting the most bang for your writing budget. A witty blog is great. A witty blog that drives Google traffic to you is even better!
OTHER STUFF ABOUT BARB PRINDLE, SNAP CZARINA & COPYWRITER
In my corporate life I served as lead content and copywriter at two fortune 500 companies where I snagged several awards for my work in TV and print advertising. Since founding SNAP in 2004 I've continued to work as a hybrid copywriter and content writer for clients ranging from small bakeries to giant conglomo-marts. I always say I am a writer first and a content and copywriter second because I believe that smart, creative, passionate content is king. My projects have included:- Web content. More than 55 websites and counting!
- Print advertising appearing in national magazines, New York Times, local papers and more
- Billboards – look along the highway
- Signs. In-store signs for your shopping pleasure primarily for Target and Land O' Lakes
- Brochures. For bankers, brokers, bakers, and businesses of all kinds
- Ghost-writing. E-book, book proposals, and newspaper and magazine articles for nationally-recognized speakers.
- Blogs posts, Facebook pages and Tweets for people too busy to do it!
Last, if you google me to research more, you'll see Barb Prindle vs. American Airlines. That Barb Prindle even works in the online space so I'm just letting people know, I've never been in a lawsuit with a giant conglomo-corp, or even a small mini-biz. Different Barb Prindle.
